Animal Production. cotton. 44 p this study seeks to estimate the parameters of an agricultural production function for Egypt over the period 1913–1955, representing a foundational step toward constructing a comprehensive econometric model of the Egyptian economy, with agriculture selected as the primary focus given its dominant role during that era. The author adopts a macro-level econometric approach, treating Egypt as a single large farm and employing long time-series data covering crops including cotton and cotton seeds, wheat, millet, maize, rice, beans, barley, lentils, helba, onions, and sugarcane. A key methodological innovation is the introduction of the "exploitation area" concept, measured in feddan/years, which accounts for the time rate of land utilization rather than relying on conventional cultivated area figures, alongside variables for agricultural labour force estimated from population census data, water released at the Aswan Dam, chemical fertilizers with a one-year lag, and a time trend capturing technological progress and unmeasured residual factors. Using ideal index number formulae, the author constructs multiple production indices, most notably total production index Q and an allocation-free production index Y, and estimates the Cobb-Douglas log-linear production function via ordinary least squares regression. The most comprehensive estimated equation achieved a multiple correlation coefficient of 0.851, with labour and fertilizers emerging as the dominant explanatory factors while the area coefficient remained statistically insignificant. The study further reveals a sharp and sustained decline in per capita agricultural output, particularly following World War II, driven by a population growth rate of approximately 2.5% per annum against a virtually stagnant cultivated area, leading the author to stress the urgent necessity of both horizontal and vertical agricultural expansion, while acknowledging methodological limitations including data deficiencies for natural manures and fixed capital, and the absence of a regional crop allocation analysis. تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تقدير معاملات دالة الإنتاج الزراعي المصري خلال الفترة من 1913 إلى 1955، بوصفها خطوةً أولى نحو بناء نموذج اقتصادي قياسي شامل يصف مسيرة التطور الاقتصادي في مصر، حيث يُمثّل القطاع الزراعي النشاط الاقتصادي الرئيسي خلال تلك الحقبة. اعتمد الباحث المنهج الاقتصادي القياسي الكلي معتبرًا مصر مزرعةً واحدة كبرى، مستخدمًا سلاسل زمنية طويلة تشمل محاصيل القطن وبذره والقمح والذرة الرفيعة والأرز والفول والشعير والعدس والحلبة والبصل وقصب السكر. وقد أدخل الباحث مفهومًا مبتكرًا هو "مساحة الاستغلال" مقاسةً بوحدة الفدان/سنة، يُراعي معدّل توقيت استخدام الأرض بدلًا من المساحة المزروعة التقليدية، إلى جانب متغيرات قوة العمل الزراعية المُقدَّرة من بيانات التعداد السكاني، وكميات المياه المُفرَجة من السد العالي في أسوان، والأسمدة الكيماوية بفارق زمني سنة، وحد الاتجاه الزمني الذي يعكس التقدم التكنولوجي والعوامل الأخرى غير المقيسة. وعلى صعيد المنهجية الإحصائية، أنشأ الباحث مؤشرات متعددة للإنتاج باستخدام صيغة المؤشر المثالي، أبرزها مؤشر الإنتاج الكلي ومؤشر الإنتاج المُعدَّل من أثر التخصيص، واعتمد دالة كوب-دوغلاس اللوغاريتمية نموذجًا قياسيًا للتقدير بطريقة المربعات الصغرى. وقد بلغ معامل الارتباط المتعدد في المعادلة الأشمل 0.851، وكشفت النتائج عن أهمية عامل العمل والأسمدة في تفسير التغيرات الإنتاجية، في حين جاء معامل المساحة غير دال إحصائيًا، كما أظهرت الدراسة تراجعًا حادًا في نصيب الفرد من الإنتاج الزراعي خاصةً في أعقاب الحرب العالمية الثانية نتيجة تسارع النمو السكاني البالغ نحو 2.5% سنويًا مقابل ركود الرقعة الزراعية، مما دفع الباحث إلى التأكيد على ضرورة التوسع الزراعي أفقيًا ورأسيًا، مُنوّهًا في الوقت ذاته إلى القيود المنهجية المتمثلة في شُح البيانات الخاصة بالأسمدة الطبيعية ورأس المال الثابت وغياب تحليل التخصيص الجغرافي للمحاصيل. 2018-08-02T12:58:16Z 2018-08-02T12:58:16Z 1962-12-31 book http://repository.inp.edu.eg/handle/123456789/3851 eng External memos;259 application/pdf INP |
