Therefore, any kind of comparison or evaluation regarding the degree of mechanization would be inappropriate. However, the development of mechanization in Ethiopia is very slow and hindered by several objective factors. Additional challenges include the lack of skilled labor and maintenance services, further delaying the adoption of mechanization. As a result, mechanization is predominantly introduced or used on large, newly established farms and plantations.
