Animal production represents one of the fundamental components of agricultural production in the Arab Republic of Egypt. In 1984, the monetary value of animal production amounted to approximately EGP 2,839 million at current prices, representing 31% of the total monetary value of agricultural production, which reached about EGP 9,171 million during the same year.
Dairy products are considered one of the most important components of animal production, contributing about 35% of the total monetary value of animal production in 1984. The monetary value of milk production during that year was estimated at approximately EGP 993 million at current prices. |
