The strength or weakness of any society today depends on what it produces in terms of food whether it is sufficient or not. This gives rise to the trap of food imports and the resulting economic, political, and social consequences. The saying, “He who does not own his food does not own his freedom,” has proven true, as political and economic freedom is closely linked to self-sufficiency in food production or ownership. |
