As a result of the policy of economic orientation followed by the governments of many countries and their intervention in various economic fields in order to develop and raise the standard of living, they have become responsible for managing all or some aspects of economic activity themselves through the agencies they establish for this purpose. Thus, the role of the government was not limited to practicing its activity in the field of services, but it became active in various economic fields such as industry and trade, despite the criticism of some on the grounds that the public sector is less efficient when practicing industrial and commercial activity, which requires flexibility and freedom from government regulations and procedures. |
