The concept of green economy has noticeably drawn attention as an important tool to build a more efficient economy on the long - term and direct the local investment toward achieving the sustainable management of natural resources. The study concluded with the importance of using green economy concept as a basic approach to achieve sustainable development, which can be considered as part of the economic dimension of sustainable development, which ensures the direction of eco-friendly economic activities, as well as integrating the environmental cost of production as a basic component of economic accounting. International case studies confirmed the strong link between green economy concept and sustainability development.
