Engineering. 16 p paper This study addresses the issue of overflow traffic in telephone services, a problem previously tackled theoretically by Wilkinson (USA) and Bretschneider (Germany). Traditional loss calculations rely on the assumption of original random traffic generating the rest of the non-random traffic. In contrast, this paper introduces a method for calculating losses based on measurable characteristics of non-random traffic, independently from the originating random sources. A numerical computation scheme is developed, allowing for practical use of digital computers in solving engineering problems in telephone networks.
