The paper begins with a review of the agricultural conditions in Egypt before 1952 and the measures taken by the revolutionary government to develop agriculture. The current paper analyzes the programs aimed at vertical expansion, which include three main programs: soil improvement, the improvement and diversification of field crops, and the improvement and diversification of horticultural crops. These programs aim to enhance agricultural productivity and diversify crops to achieve substantial progress in the agricultural sector during the first five-year plan.
